pretty strong words. I applaud your verbal tenacity and expression. Don't ever let anyone take that away from you. But to me it seems you are being hypocritical, or maybe I wasted 21 years of my life listening to people (teachers, parents, etc.) whom i thought were doing the right thing in passing on information (be it good or bad) for me to "learn". I don't believe that the aim of these lyricist is to make us feel "stupid", but to get us off our lazy asses and READ the shit for ourselves. I do agree with the fact that the slang could be toned down again (like you said, a bunch of babylon!), but slang is to me just another language. If you can express a thought and have at least one person understand you, why do we consider it "slang" it's there language; every language has slang and every slang comes from a different language. I'm sure at some point, what we consider "english" was considered a slang. We didn't start speaking it. So to me slang is not a factor in this discussion.

But back to the main point… do you really believe everything you just said? Do you believe that the masses will be able to educate themselves? Like you said, overstanding is taking everything you learn and applying it. But if the information is not provided then you can't learn to much, and you will only be able to understand.

I believe you'd have a lot more fun in the roots discussion page.
