The main word to describe this artist's work is fresh. I don't mean to take it back to the 80's but everything about Jill Scott's album is refreshing. It's artistic, it's moving, it's personal, and it better fuses the gap between jazz, hip-hop and r&b. It's all I listen to. When an artist can actually make you feel music as the art form that it is instead of the commodity it's portrayed to be, that is a GIFT. Jill Scott is truly gifted.
