THE WAIT IS OVER, COMMON SCHEDULED TO DROP NEW LP
Common is set to release one of the most highly anticipated hip hop LP's of the year. The Chicago-based artist's third Relativity release, One Day It'll All Make Sense, is scheduled for a September 30 street date and it's a flat-out triumph.
Common took his time creating this records and has been joined by a lot of his friends. The acclaimed chateuse, Chantay Savage, hooks up with Common on his first single, "Reminding Me (Of Sef)," which drops August 19.
Lauryn Hill recorded with Common while both were still expecting the birth of their first children this August. There's no doubt they reached deep into their hearts on "Retrospect For Life" which deals with the fragile topic of abortion.
Common was also jointed by Erykah Badu on the track "All Night Long" which was produced by the Roots and Cee-Lo of the Goodie Mob on the track "G.O.D. (Gaining One's Definition)." Returning for his second recording engagement with his son is Common's dad, Lonnie Lynn, who performed on Comon's second critically acclaimed album, Resurrection. This time he performs on "Pop's rap/Fatherhood." The majority of the production is provided by Common's tried-and-true hometown production family, No I.D. (who will be releasing his own excellent debut LP on Relativity entitled Accept Your Own & Be Yourself at the end of September) and Ynot-plus producer/emcee Dug Infinite and musician Spike Rebel.
Watch for the music video "Reminding Me (Of Sef)" which is a tribute song to all the best memories Common shared with his departed friend, Sef.
